THAILAND
THAILAND
Thailand is considered to have achieved SDG 1 and is assessed as on track or maintaining progress. The country has made substantial advances in reducing poverty, bringing extreme poverty close to zero by 2018 and positioning itself as one of Southeast Asia’s strongest performers in overall SDG implementation. By 2021, Thailand had already met the major targets for SDG 1, with extreme poverty at the $2.15‑per‑day threshold effectively eradicated.
Thailand uses the Thai People Map and Analytics Platform (TPMAP) to target poverty with precise, data‑driven interventions, focusing on education, health, income, and living standards. The country also prioritizes the localization of the SDGs, adapting strategies to the specific needs of each province to address inequality and ensure that no one is left behind. This approach is fully integrated into Thailand’s 20‑Year National Strategy, reinforcing long‑term, inclusive development.
